Israeli army dismantles, retreats from key base dividing Gaza, with Jon Elmer

also this week after the exchange uh prisoner Exchange number five uh the nsar rim Corridor was fully evacuated if we look at the map here it's map B um we've been showing this map this was the widest the narim corridor got you can see it's pressing right down onto narat camp and telawa um it's uh in the second in Tata when n when narim was a settlement it was not a budding Tel Howa um so the fact that they expanded the settle the corridor this wide during this war was something that was um they saw as a huge strategic gain although militarily um it's not um because it's a wide openen piece of land as you'll see coming up but on the Evac the date of evacuation was overnight February 8th and by 800 am Sunday morning the 9th the IDF had evacuated and IDF Army Radio had said the IDF complet withdrew from the nsim corridor tonight and that was 8:28 a.m. on 9 February 2025 so the narim corridor was fully defeated and you can see in this next map um this is the Israeli admitting that they um that the netsim corridor Was Defeated because we had reported previously that the Western Edge had been uh opened up and that's what created the great return more than half a million Palestinians returned in the first 36 hours that that was open along the coastal Road um but sadin Street uh is more of the highway and they had a checkpoint temporarily on that for a couple of weeks that has been removed according to the IDF through Army Radio again as part of the implementation of the agreement the IDF withdrew completely from the netsim corridor tonight the 22nd day of the of the agreement tonight in accordance with the agreement the IDF withdrew in full positioned itself on the buffer zone and Gau are documenting the area this morning which was completely flattened by military forces over the past year this is Army Radio report when the IDF established the entire territory of narim with new outposts um infrastructure and Roads everything has been destroyed said Army Radio on Sunday morning and we can see that in number 11 here with an aerial shot um with literally just flattened everything and of course as has been the case everywhere when people have returned people returned to Horrors uh along the narim corridor where there was shoot to kill uh zones that we reported on previously and so of course they found bodies all throughout there the Israelis burned the houses that were partially standing before they left they burned all their materials something they did in 2005 as well um and if you look at number 12 slide number 12 this is netan Yahoo's Channel 14 halel Rosen um and he pointed out last week that the soldiers left narim today in tears they feel that everything they did for more than a year in the Gaza Strip was in vain which is what the next slide uh says this was from Al jazer uh listening post did a a segment on it of the Israelis crying about leaving the narim corridor believing that everything that they had done in Gaza was for nothing so that is the sentiment within netanyahu's television channel channel 14 um and that is the reporting on the netsim corridor so the netsim corridor has been defeated Israel has withdrawn from the corridor they are now exclusively in the buffer zone uh which where where they will remain um into the second phase of the deal in the second phase of the deal when the soldiers are um the captur captured soldiers are traded uh are exchanged for Palestinians the Israelis will move out of the buer Zone in phase two uh in preparation for phase three which is reconstruction and that is what has been cast in doubt by uh off-the-cuff statements by uh Netanyahu and Trump this week [Music]
